England may have won the war against Napoleon, but for Anne Elliot and Frederick Wentworth, once engaged, now estranged, the struggle for personal happiness has just begun. Ten years and an unexpected reunion finds Miss Elliot, withered, a glorified servant to her privileged family while Captain Wentworth,  (as she must now call him) has only grown more handsome, more eligible, more desirable, and intent upon marrying anyone but Anne.   Notwithstanding Frederick's cold civility and outrageous flirtations; Anne's outrageous family, and the attentions of the magnetic Mr. Elliot, the true test of constancy lies within. Ultimately, both Anne and Frederick must contend with the hopes and hurts of their Younger Selves before happiness may, at long last, be declared.
